Bharat Survey is a survey agency in Prayagraj division for campaign teams, researchers, NGOs and departments working in the doab between the Ganga and the Yamuna. We plan samples by assembly segment, send field teams deployed for the project with an offline Android app, and check every interview by location and time. The division

Prayagraj division has its headquarters in Prayagraj city and four member districts: Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Kaushambi and Pratapgarh. Three of them sit between or along the Ganga and the Yamuna, and most of the population outside Prayagraj city lives in villages, so fieldwork is mostly rural and block by block.

Seats that do not follow district borders

The quirk that matters most for election work: the Kaushambi Lok Sabha constituency takes three segments from Kaushambi district and two, Babaganj and Kunda, from Pratapgarh district. Prayagraj district's own twelve segments are split across the Allahabad, Phulpur and Bhadohi Lok Sabha seats. A district-level sample will not answer a Lok Sabha question here, so we build samples from segments upward.

Fatehpur is the one district in the division where the map is simple: all six assembly segments, from Jahanabad and Bindki to Husainganj and Khaga, make up the single Fatehpur Lok Sabha seat. That makes it a clean unit for a political survey company in Fatehpur to sample, since a district result and a Lok Sabha result are the same thing. Kaushambi is the smallest district in the division on paper, with 3 tehsils, 8 blocks and 451 gram panchayats listed on its district site, and only three assembly segments: Sirathu, Manjhanpur and Chail. The trap is the Lok Sabha seat. A political survey company in Kaushambi that samples only this district misses two of the constituency's five segments, which lie across the border in Pratapgarh. An election survey agency in Kaushambi therefore needs a plan that includes Babaganj and Kunda. Pratapgarh, known locally as Belha, has seven assembly segments but only five of them form the Pratapgarh Lok Sabha seat: Rampur Khas, Vishwanathganj, Pratapgarh, Patti and Raniganj. Babaganj and Kunda vote in Kaushambi. Which districts are in Prayagraj division?

Why does a Kaushambi Lok Sabha survey include Pratapgarh villages?

Under the 2008 delimitation, the Kaushambi Lok Sabha seat has five assembly segments: Sirathu, Manjhanpur and Chail from Kaushambi district, and Babaganj and Kunda from Pratapgarh district. A seat survey must sample all five, or its results only describe part of the electorate.
