Fieldwork planned around 227 BMC wards, gated towers and monsoon weeks
Bharat Survey works as a survey company in Mumbai for campaigns, brands, researchers and public bodies that need interviews they can check. Field teams are deployed per project across Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban districts, and every response carries a GPS point, a timestamp and the BMC ward it belongs to. You get daily progress on a web panel instead of a spreadsheet at the end.
- Samples split by BMC ward and assembly seat
- Offline Android app for basements, chawl lanes and trains
- Society-access plans agreed before day one
- Marathi, Hindi, English and Gujarati questionnaires

Mumbai is not one district. Quotas that ignore the city-suburban split or the ward grid end up over-sampling a few easy neighbourhoods.

A corporator race in one BMC ward and a Lok Sabha contest across six assembly segments need different samples, even when they cover the same streets.
Ward-level sentiment for corporator contests
The January 2026 BMC polls put 227 wards back on the calendar for every civic campaign. We draw quotas per ward, then split by building type: chawl, slum pocket, SRA tower, older co-operative society and new high-rise, because opinion in Mumbai often tracks housing more than area.
- Housing-type quotas
- Ward boundary checks on every GPS point
- Neutral questionnaires reviewed before launch
Assembly and Lok Sabha tracking
For the 36 assembly seats, we roll ward samples up into constituencies and report issue priorities such as water, redevelopment, local trains and flooding by segment. Results describe what respondents said; we never promise an outcome.
Mumbai fieldwork loses days to two things, society gates and rain. The plan handles both before an enumerator steps out.

Monsoon planning
| Brief | Best method | Mumbai-specific watch-out |
|---|---|---|
| BMC ward sentiment | Doorstep interviews by ward | Housing-type quotas inside each ward |
| Campaign volunteer coordination | Booth management app | Booth lists are entered by your team; we import no voter rolls |
| Shopper or brand study | Intercepts plus doorstep | Mall-only samples skew to higher incomes |
| Store compliance | Mystery audit | Peak-hour visits need permission from the brand, not the store |
| Slum or redevelopment study | Household census with GPS | Informal addresses; see our slum survey method |
Not the right fit if
- Anyone wanting a guaranteed election result or exit poll accuracy figure
- Studies that need voter-list personal data
- iOS-only field deployments
- Buyers expecting a walk-in Mumbai office: field teams are deployed per project
A good fit if
- Ward or seat samples that need GPS proof
- Mixed housing-type household surveys
- Retail and branch audits with photo evidence
- Campaigns fielding their own volunteers on the booth management app Mumbai teams can run offline on Android, with no voter-roll data

Can you survey inside gated housing societies in Mumbai?
Often, but not always. Many societies need approval from the secretary or managing committee. We send a project letter, request weekend or evening slots, and record every refusal. Your report shows how many societies were approached, how many allowed entry and how the final sample was balanced by housing type.
Do you split Mumbai results by BMC ward?
Yes. Each interview is geo-tagged and checked against ward boundaries, so results can be read by any of the 227 BMC wards and rolled up into the 36 assembly constituencies or six Lok Sabha seats. Small ward samples are flagged so nobody reads too much into them.
How does the monsoon affect a Mumbai survey timeline?
Heavy rain between June and September causes waterlogging in low-lying areas and train delays, which cuts doorstep output. We add buffer days for those months, shift some interviews indoors or to evenings, and show the daily completion rate so you can see slippage as it happens.
Can you run the same study in Mumbai and Bengaluru?
Yes. The questionnaire, quotas and quality checks stay identical, and field teams are deployed separately in each city. Language versions change: Marathi and Hindi in Mumbai, Kannada in Bengaluru, with English in both. Results sit in one dashboard with a city filter.
Do you have an office in Mumbai?
We do not claim a local office. Field teams and supervisors are deployed for each Mumbai project, and clients follow progress on the web panel with GPS, time and photo evidence on each record. Briefings happen by call or at your premises when needed.

Share the brief, sample size and deadline. We reply with a ward plan and a quotation.
