Residence and office verification with evidence a credit team can check

Bharat Survey's CPV app for field agents is for verification agencies, NBFC field units and lenders' vendor managers who need every residence or office visit to leave proof behind. Agents get assigned cases on an offline Android app, capture location and photos at the address, fill a structured verification form and sync. A reviewer sees where and when the visit happened before the report goes to the credit team.

  • Residence, office and business verification forms
  • Location captured at the visit, compared with the assigned area
  • Photos compressed on the phone, uploaded on sync
  • Reviewer sign-off and back-check before release

The problem

A contact point verification report is only as good as the visit behind it. The common failures are well known to every risk team.

Reports filled from a tea stall

Without location evidence, a report written a kilometre away looks identical to one written at the door.

Back-dated visits

Paper or chat-based reports carry whatever date the agent types. Timestamps from the phone at capture do not.

Free-text remarks

Unstructured remarks cannot be compared across agents or checked for patterns. Structured fields can.

No second look

When no one reviews a share of cases, weak agents stay invisible until a fraud case surfaces.
Case flow

The same flow works for a single-city agency and a multi-state vendor network.

    Case assigned to an agent

A coordinator assigns the address and the right form to an agent covering that area. The case downloads to the phone, so it opens even without signal.

Arrival and location at the address

At the door the agent taps to record arrival. Location, accuracy and time are stored with the case, along with a mock-GPS check.

    Structured form and photos

The agent records who was met, relationship to applicant, residence type, years at address, locality description and permitted photos. If the door is locked or the address is wrong, the outcome is recorded as such.

    Review and release

A reviewer checks the location state, duration, photos and answers, then approves, sends back for correction or orders a re-visit. Approved cases export for the lender.

Our view

Location evidence

Each case is assigned to an area such as a ward or village. When the agent captures location, the app stores the coordinates, their accuracy and age, and whether a mock-location app was detected. After sync, the point is compared with the assigned area and labelled in area, near boundary, outside, poor signal or mock GPS. Cases outside the area or with mock GPS never pass as approved without a reviewer's decision.

What it does not do

The app does not geocode each street address and measure the distance to the door. Indian addresses are too inconsistent for that to be reliable in most towns. The stored coordinates are exported with the case, so a lender who wants a distance check against its own geocoded address can run one.

Supervising agents across cities

During a shift, coordinators can see agents' live location, shared only while the shift is running and with a visible notification on the agent's phone. Outside shift hours nothing is shared. Daily views show cases closed, pending and sent back per agent.

Exports for the lender

  • CSV and Excel case data
  • PDF report per case
  • Coordinates and timestamps
  • Reviewer decision and remarks
  • One-way copy to Google Sheets

Not the right fit if

  • You need a direct API link into your loan origination system today
  • Agents use iPhones
  • You need credit bureau, PAN or Aadhaar checks inside the app
  • You want automatic address geocoding and distance scoring

A good fit if

  • Your agencies must prove each visit happened at the right place
  • Reviewers need a queue, not a WhatsApp group
  • Agents work in areas with weak network
  • You want verification teams as well as software
FAQ

Straight answers to the questions people ask most about this topic.

What is a CPV app?

A CPV app lets field agents carry out contact point verification on a phone: open an assigned case, record arrival and location at the address, fill a structured residence or office form, add permitted photos and sync. Reviewers then check the evidence before the report reaches the lender.

Can agents work without mobile data?

Yes. Cases and forms download in advance. Agents complete visits offline, records save encrypted on the phone and sync when data returns. The app shows how many cases are still waiting to upload, so nothing is assumed to be sent.

Does it connect to our loan system?

Version 1 exports case data as CSV, Excel and PDF, and can copy results to Google Sheets. A direct API or webhook link to a loan origination system is not available today; tell us your system and we will discuss options.

How do you stop agents faking locations?

The app records location accuracy and flags mock-location apps. Records with mock GPS, poor signal or outside the assigned area go to review. Short visit durations are flagged too, and reviewers can order re-visits or back-checks by another agent.
