For the workers who never open the HR portal
Most engagement platforms assume every employee has a laptop and a work email. Bharat Survey is an employee engagement survey tool for India's plants, warehouses, construction sites, hospitals, security agencies and field sales teams, where most people do not. Trained facilitators run short, anonymous surveys on offline Android devices at shift change, and HR sees results by site and department without a single name attached.
- Anonymous by design: no employee ID on the response
- Hindi, English and regional-language forms
- Works offline in plants and remote sites
- Site-wise results for HR and plant heads
- Comes regularly
- Comes sometimes
- Rarely / never
- Don't know
In many Indian companies the majority of the workforce is on the floor, on the road or on contract. A link sent to them through a supervisor's WhatsApp group rarely produces honest answers, because workers assume the supervisor can see who replied. The result is a survey that measures office staff and misses the people whose attrition costs the most.
How anonymity is protected in practice
Responses record site, department and shift band, never a name, phone number or employee code. Facilitators are not the workers' line managers. Results for small groups are merged into larger ones before reporting, which we agree with HR before the round starts, so a team of four cannot be singled out.
Why in person still works
A facilitator who explains the purpose in the workers' language, hands over a device and steps back gets far better participation than a poster with a QR code. Each session is short, and the app works without the plant's Wi-Fi.
Common settings
- Manufacturing plants
- Warehouses and logistics hubs
- Construction and project sites
- Hospitals and facility services
- Security and housekeeping agencies
- Field sales and service teams

Employee pulse survey tool for the shift change
Ten questions, six minutes, at the start of a shift. Repeated every quarter with the same core items, a pulse round shows whether a site is getting better or worse long before resignations do.
The same app carries every instrument. What changes is the form, the frequency and who sees the results.
Annual engagement survey
- 30 to 50 items
- Site and department cuts
Quarterly pulse
- Same items every round
- Trend by site
Employee Net Promoter Score
- One score, one reason
- Promoters minus detractors
| Question | Link-based HR platforms | Bharat Survey |

| Self-completion links and reminders | Yes | Not in v1 |
| Offline collection at sites | Usually no | Yes |
| Regional-language facilitation | Depends on vendor | Facilitators plus translated forms |
| 360 reviews and performance modules | Often included | Not offered |

People rarely tell their own manager why they are leaving. A structured exit interview by someone outside the reporting line does better.

Not the right fit if
- Your workforce is almost entirely desk-based with work email
- You need 360-degree or performance review modules
- You want automated reminders and HRMS integration
- You want a certification or benchmark label
A good fit if
- Most employees are frontline, contract or field staff
- Workers distrust links sent through supervisors
- Sites have weak Wi-Fi or mobile signal
- You need results by site in several languages
Straight answers to the questions people ask most about this topic.
How do workers know the survey is anonymous?
The facilitator explains, in the workers' language, that no name, phone number or employee code is recorded, and that their supervisor will not see individual answers. Workers answer on a device the facilitator hands over, and results are reported only for groups large enough to protect identity.
Can employees answer on their own phones?
Not in version 1. Bharat Survey does not send self-completion links. Responses are collected on facilitator-held Android devices during sessions, which also avoids the concern that a link sent by a supervisor can be traced.
How many employees can be surveyed in a day?
It depends on questionnaire length, shift timings and how many devices are in the room. A short pulse can move quickly at a shift change; a long annual survey takes longer. We plan sessions per site with your HR team before quoting.
Which languages are supported?
The app interface is Hindi-first with English. Survey questions can be written in the languages your workforce speaks, such as Marathi, Tamil or Bengali, as long as the translation is prepared and checked before the round.
