Doorstep proof now; identity authentication only through licensed routes
Departments and CSR teams searching for an eKYC survey app usually need to answer one question: is the listed beneficiary real, and did they receive the benefit? Bharat Survey answers the doorstep part today, with GPS-verified visits, consent, photos and structured checks on an offline Android app. Aadhaar authentication is different. It is permitted only for entities authorised under UIDAI rules, and we explain below exactly where that fits.

Straight answer
Aadhaar authentication and eKYC are services UIDAI provides to authorised requesting entities, known as Authentication User Agencies (AUA) and KYC User Agencies (KUA), under the Aadhaar Act, 2016 and its regulations. A survey software company cannot simply call UIDAI because a client wants it. Bharat Survey is not an AUA or KUA, and the app does not perform Aadhaar authentication in version 1.
Aadhaar based beneficiary verification API: the licensed route
If a department is itself entitled to use Aadhaar authentication for a scheme, the authentication must run through that entity's own licence or a licensed partner acting for it, with the consent and purpose limits the regulations set. Where a project needs this, we scope it with the department and its licensed partner; it is a project-specific integration, not a switch in the app.
What most verification drives actually need
In practice, the evidence departments lack is not a second identity check but proof of the visit: that an independent enumerator went to the listed address, found the beneficiary, confirmed the benefit and saw the asset. That part runs on Bharat Survey today.

Three identity approaches come up in almost every tender. Only one is available in the product today.
Doorstep verification with evidence
Consent, observation, outcome codes, photos, location and supervisor review. Works offline in any district and needs no identity licence.

Possible only where the commissioning department is entitled to Aadhaar authentication for the scheme and a licensed AUA/KUA partner carries it out. Scoped per project, with legal review, and not part of the standard app.

Aadhaar offline eKYC with face matching
Offline eKYC lets a resident share a signed XML or QR from UIDAI voluntarily. Verifying it and comparing a live photo with it are not built into version 1, and the regulations on who may use offline verification still apply.

Can Bharat Survey do Aadhaar eKYC?
Not directly. Aadhaar authentication and eKYC are available only to entities authorised by UIDAI, such as AUAs and KUAs. Bharat Survey is not one. Where a department is entitled to use authentication for a scheme, it can be integrated through a licensed partner as a scoped project.
Do you store beneficiaries' Aadhaar numbers?
Not by default. Verification forms are designed to record what the enumerator observed and the outcome, not identity numbers. If a programme insists on a reference field, we recommend a scheme ID or a masked value and a defined retention period.
What does a beneficiary verification report contain?
For each listed beneficiary: whether they were found, the benefit and asset checks, photos where permitted, visit time, location state and reviewer decision. Summary tables show results by block or village with an exception list for follow-up.
Can the app work in villages without network?
Yes. Assignments and forms download before the shift, visits are recorded offline and encrypted on the phone, and records sync when signal returns. The enumerator can always see how many checks are still waiting to upload.
