Multi-member prabhags, six assembly segments and a city that keeps spreading
Bharat Survey is a survey company in Pune for campaign teams, researchers, brands and civic programmes. Pune Municipal Corporation elects 165 corporators from 41 prabhags, most of them four-member wards, so a ward sample here is really a sample of a small town. We design quotas around that, deploy field teams per project and record every interview offline with GPS, time and consent.
- Quotas for four-member prabhags
- Marathi, Hindi and English questionnaires
- GPS and time on every record

Checked against public sources in September 2026. Confirm boundaries at brief; Pune's limits have changed several times.

In a four-seat prabhag, voters pick several names at once. That changes what a useful question looks like.
Panel recall, not one-name recall
Asking only 'who is your corporator?' fails when four people represent a prabhag. We ask about the panel, the issues each part of the prabhag raises and which local leaders residents actually contact.

Sub-areas inside each prabhag
A prabhag often joins old peth lanes, housing societies and newer layouts. We split the sample so that gated societies do not crowd out chawls and bastis, or the other way round.
From findings to booth work
Campaigns that move from research to organisation can use our booth management app Pune volunteers run offline to log booth visits, tasks and turnout updates, without any voter-roll import.
Our view on Pune
The six segments of the Pune Lok Sabha seat mix very different electorates: the old city around Kasba Peth, western neighbourhoods in Kothrud, the cantonment segment and the eastern spread of Vadgaon Sheri. An assembly survey plans each segment on its own before any seat-level roll-up.
Door to door survey agency in Pune housing societies
Entry to a housing society usually needs the managing committee's permission. We request it in advance, carry an authorisation letter and log refused societies as refusals, so you can see the gap instead of a silently substituted sample.
- Society permission tracked per visit
- Refusals kept in the dataset
- Evening and weekend slots for working households
Common Pune questions
- Traffic and water supply by prabhag
- Views on civic services after the 2026 polls
- Awareness of ward-level works
- Candidate recall in a multi-member panel
Commercial studies use the same field controls: consent first, GPS on every record and back-checks on a share of interviews.

Student and young-worker samples
| Question | Unit to sample | Pune-specific care |
|---|---|---|
| Mood in one corporation ward | Prabhag, split by sub-area | Society permissions and multi-member recall |
| Assembly seat study | Assembly segment | Treat Kasba Peth and Vadgaon Sheri as different worlds |
| Brand or category usage | Household, city-wide | Balance society flats and independent homes |
| Retail availability | Outlet | Avoid evening peak hours |
Not the right fit if
- A Pune office or standing local team; field teams are deployed per project
- Voter-list personal data, voter tracking or predicted results
- Entry into every housing society; some will refuse and we report it
A good fit if
- Prabhag and segment-level opinion research
- Household and retail studies with GPS proof
- Offline booth coordination for campaigns

How many corporators does Pune Municipal Corporation have?
For the January 2026 election, PMC had 165 corporators from 41 prabhags. Forty prabhags elect four members each and one elects five. We use the prabhag as the base sampling unit and spread interviews across its sub-areas so one neighbourhood does not dominate.
Which assembly segments are in the Pune Lok Sabha seat?
Six: Vadgaon Sheri, Shivajinagar, Kothrud, Parvati, Pune Cantonment (reserved for SC) and Kasba Peth. Some areas people think of as Pune fall in other parliamentary seats, so we confirm each locality's segment before setting quotas.
Can you survey residents inside gated housing societies?
Usually, with the managing committee's permission, which we seek in advance. When a society refuses, we record that as a refusal in the dataset rather than replacing it with nearby homes, so the report shows exactly where coverage is thinner.
Which languages do you use for Pune questionnaires?
Marathi is the default, with Hindi and English versions for respondents who prefer them. Each version is back-translated and piloted, and the app records which language each interview used.

Tell us the prabhags or segments, respondents and dates. We will send a sample plan that shows how societies and lanes are balanced.
