Bharat Survey is a survey agency for urban planning and municipal authorities: municipal corporations, councils, nagar panchayats, development authorities and smart city bodies. We run property and assessment surveys, slum and housing demand surveys, street vendor surveys and ward-level citizen service studies, with every record coded to ward and geo-tagged, so disputes can be settled by looking at the evidence rather than arguing about it.

The legal hook

Some urban surveys are required, not optional. Under the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014, the Town Vending Committee must survey existing street vendors and repeat the survey at least once every five years, and vendors are not to be evicted or relocated until that survey is complete and vending certificates are issued. A survey done carelessly leaves vendors out and invites disputes.

Can your survey match properties to our tax register?

Yes. We load your register by ward, and enumerators confirm, update or flag each property, adding unlisted ones as new records. The output separates matched, changed and new properties so the revenue department can act on each list.

How do you handle locked houses and absent owners?

Enumerators revisit at different times of day as agreed in the scope, and record each attempt. Properties still unreached are listed separately rather than estimated, so the ULB can decide on notices or follow-up.

Can street vendor surveys include vendors who move around?

Yes. Mobile vendors are recorded with their usual routes and time slots as reported, alongside stationary vendors at fixed spots. Surveys run at the hours vendors actually trade, including evenings and weekly markets.

Who owns the photos and data?

The municipal authority. Everything is handed over in agreed formats, and our copies are kept for later export until the authority instructs us to delete them.
