A fully urban core seat, and a district that votes in two more
Bharat Survey is a survey company in Kanpur Nagar for campaign teams, brands, researchers and civic programmes. Kanpur Nagar Nigam runs 110 wards in six zones, while the district's ten assembly segments vote in the Kanpur, Akbarpur and Misrikh seats. We plan samples on both maps, deploy field teams per project and log every interview offline with GPS and time.

Kanpur seat
- Dense wards, short walking routes
- Civic and price questions dominate
- Faster fieldwork per interview
- Leaves out Bithoor, Ghatampur and Bilhaur
Kanpur Nagar district
- Adds village households in two tehsils
- Results split into three seats
- Longer travel between sample points
- Needed for any Akbarpur or Misrikh question
Most people think of Kanpur as one electorate. On paper it is three. The Kanpur seat is the city core. Kalyanpur, Bithoor and Maharajpur ring the city and vote in Akbarpur along with Ghatampur to the south and a segment from Kanpur Dehat. Bilhaur, which is also a tehsil headquarters, is counted in Misrikh with segments from Hardoi and Sitapur. A campaign or researcher has to say which contest the question is about before a single quota is set.
Why the segment code matters
We tag every interview with its segment, ward and tehsil. The same dataset can then be reported for the Kanpur seat, for the Kanpur Nagar share of Akbarpur, or for Nagar Nigam zones, without redrawing the sample.

Wards mapped to zones and segments
The 110 wards are assigned to their zone and assembly segment, so one round can answer a Nagar Nigam and a Vidhan Sabha question.

Why does Kanpur Nagar district vote in three Lok Sabha seats?
Under the 2008 delimitation, the five city segments form the Kanpur seat. Bithoor, Kalyanpur, Maharajpur and Ghatampur are part of Akbarpur, which also takes a Kanpur Dehat segment, and Bilhaur belongs to Misrikh. A district-level result therefore mixes three contests unless it is weighted segment by segment.
Can you report by Nagar Nigam zone?
Yes. Each sampled ward is tagged with one of the corporation's six zones, so civic service findings can be read zone by zone as well as by ward. We weight zone results by ward size to stop a single large ward from setting the zone figure.
Is the Kanpur Lok Sabha seat entirely urban?
Its five segments, Govind Nagar, Sishamau, Arya Nagar, Kidwai Nagar and Kanpur Cantt, lie inside the city, so fieldwork there is ward-based and walkable. Rural households come into the sample only when a brief covers the Akbarpur or Misrikh parts of the district.
Which languages do your Kanpur Nagar interviewers use?
Hindi for most interviews, with an Urdu version for respondents who prefer it. Census 2011 recorded about 5.8% Urdu and a small Punjabi-speaking share in the district, so we pilot translations and let respondents choose the language before questions begin.

Share the seat, wards or tehsils, the respondents you need and your timeline. We will send a segment-wise field plan.
