Mainland, island and backwater wards covered in one plan
Bharat Survey is a survey company in Kochi for political researchers, brands, NGOs and civic bodies that need Malayalam interviews they can verify. Kochi Municipal Corporation now has 76 wards, split between the mainland around Ernakulam and island areas such as Fort Kochi and Mattancherry. We plan routes around ferries and the monsoon, deploy field teams per project and record every interview with GPS, time and photo evidence.
Hello, I am Ram Kumar. This survey is run by Sample Organisation. Purpose: to learn about amenities in your area. It is voluntary, and you can say no at any time.
Our view on Kochi fieldwork
Sources: Kerala State Election Commission · Kochi Municipal Corporation (pointer) · Ernakulam Lok Sabha constituency (pointer to ECI data)
Kerala politics is contested between fronts, so Kochi voters often weigh the local candidate, the front and civic issues separately. As a political survey company in Kochi, we ask about each of these on its own and never lead the respondent.

BoothData collection agency in Kochi for pre-poll tracking
Kochi voters take part in corporation, assembly and Lok Sabha elections on different boundaries. As an election survey agency in Kochi, we tag each interview with ward and assembly segment, so one field round can report both ways. As a data collection agency in Kochi, we also handle fieldwork for research teams that design their own questionnaire.
- Ward and segment tags per record
- Tracking waves with the same sample frame
- Daily raw data access
Door to door survey agency in Kochi for civic studies
Flood exposure, waste segregation and water supply studies need visits to every sampled home. As a door to door survey agency in Kochi, we log locked-house revisits and photo evidence where permitted, including in narrow Mattancherry lanes where addresses are hard to find.
- Revisit rules
- GPS proof of visit
- Ward coverage report
Kochi mixes a commercial centre around Ernakulam, IT workplaces near Kakkanad, a port economy and heritage tourism in Fort Kochi. A market research company in Kochi has to sample these groups separately. Visitor intercepts in Fort Kochi answer different questions from household panels in Edappally or Vyttila.
Studies we set up here
Each study uses Malayalam and English forms with the respondent choosing the language.
- Household purchase and brand use studies
- Retail and mall shopper intercepts
- Tourist and homestay visitor feedback
- Returning-migrant household spending studies
| Objective | Method | Kochi-specific point |
|---|---|---|
| Ward issue priorities | Door-to-door | Include island wards in quotas |
| Pre-poll tracking | Repeat CAPI waves | Tag ward and assembly segment |
| Tourist feedback | Intercepts | Season matters; avoid peak monsoon only samples |
| Retail footfall | Mall and market intercepts | Get property permission in advance |
Not the right fit if
- Guaranteed seat or vote-share predictions
- Voter-list downloads or voter tracking
- Hydrographic or land survey work
- Claims of a Kochi office or past local clients
A good fit if
- Malayalam door-to-door studies
- Samples spanning mainland and island wards
- GPS-verified raw data you can audit
- Short tracking waves during campaign periods

How do you cover island wards such as Fort Kochi and Mattancherry?
We set quotas for island and mainland ward clusters before fieldwork, then schedule the teams crossing water against ferry and Water Metro timings. Island interviews are tracked separately on the dashboard, so you can see whether those wards are behind and move interviewers before the survey closes.
Does the monsoon stop fieldwork in Kochi?
Heavy rain slows door-to-door work but rarely stops it for long. We build buffer days into June to September schedules, shift to morning slots, and avoid waterlogged areas on the worst days. The app works offline, so interviews in flooded or low-signal pockets still sync later.
Can you report results by corporation ward and by assembly seat?
Yes. Every record carries its ward and assembly segment, so the same dataset can be cut for the 76 corporation wards or for Kochi, Ernakulam, Thrikkakara and the other segments. That helps when local body and assembly questions are asked in one round.
Are interviews conducted in Malayalam?
Yes. Questionnaires are translated into Malayalam, back-checked, and piloted with local respondents. English versions are kept for respondents who prefer them, and the language used is recorded with each interview.

Tell us the wards, respondents and deadline. We will send a field plan that accounts for ferries and weather.
