Internal student and stakeholder feedback, run properly every year
Bharat Survey's NAAC SSS software helps IQAC coordinators run the college's own student satisfaction survey and stakeholder feedback cycles without paper forms or scattered Google Sheets. Students answer on their phones through anonymous links, the IQAC sees response rates by department and class while the survey is open, and reports come out in formats you can analyse, act on and attach to your quality records. It supports your preparation; NAAC's own official SSS remains NAAC's process.

In NAAC's revised accreditation framework, the Student Satisfaction Survey is Key Indicator 2.7 (metric 2.7.1) under Criterion II, Teaching-Learning and Evaluation. It asks students about teaching, learning and evaluation, with responses on a five-point scale scored 0 to 4. For accreditation, NAAC administers the SSS itself online to students from a database the institution uploads.
That distinction matters. Software cannot and should not fill in NAAC's official survey. What an IQAC can do is run its own SSS-style survey every semester or year, so problems in a department surface early, action is taken, and the institution is not meeting its students' views for the first time during assessment. NAAC's framework is revised from time to time, so always check the current manual for your cycle.

How an IQAC typically uses internal SSS results before assessment.
Survey every programme
Links go out per class. The IQAC sees response rates by department in real time and nudges classes that lag, instead of discovering low participation after the window closes.
- Live response rates
- Reminder lists by class
- No login for students
Find the weak spots
Scores by question and department show where students feel evaluation is unfair, syllabus coverage is poor, or mentoring is missing.
- Question-level scores
- Department comparison
- Year-on-year trend
Record action taken
Each concern gets an owner and an action note. The action-taken report becomes part of the IQAC's records for the next cycle.

Criterion VII covers institutional values and best practices, including areas such as gender equity, environmental consciousness, inclusivity and distinctiveness. It is not where the SSS sits, but institutions often collect stakeholder perceptions to show how these initiatives are experienced on campus.
Useful surveys for this criterion
Keep them short and specific so they produce action, not just a file.
- Campus safety and gender sensitisation perception survey
- Green campus awareness and practice survey
- Accessibility feedback from students with disabilities
- Feedback on value-education or community programmes

Does NAAC conduct the student satisfaction survey itself?
Yes. For accreditation under the revised framework, NAAC administers the SSS online to students using a database the institution submits. Internal surveys run by the IQAC are separate and help the institution identify and fix issues beforehand.
Under which criterion is the NAAC SSS?
The Student Satisfaction Survey is metric 2.7.1 under Criterion II, Teaching-Learning and Evaluation. It is not under Criterion VII, which covers institutional values and best practices.
Are student responses anonymous?
Yes, when the survey is set to anonymous links. Students do not log in, and responses are reported by class or department, not by student. The IQAC decides the minimum group size for reports.
Can we use our university's own feedback format?
Yes. Forms can be built to match your affiliating university's or IQAC's existing format, in English and regional languages, and reused each semester.
How is pricing structured?
Pricing is seat-based or on quotation, depending on the number of administrators, departments and survey volume. Contact us with your student strength and feedback cycles for a quote.
