From Ranchi city wards to Tamar, Bundu and Mandar blocks
Bharat Survey is a survey company in Ranchi for political researchers, government departments, NGOs and brands that need field data from both the city and the district around it. Ranchi district has 14 blocks across two sub-divisions and seven assembly seats, several reserved for Scheduled Tribes. We deploy field teams per project, use interviewers who speak the respondent's language, and record each interview with GPS, time and photo evidence.

Where Ranchi fits
Ranchi city holds the state's offices and much of its commerce, but most of the district's blocks are rural and a large share of their population belongs to Scheduled Tribes. Three of the district's seven assembly seats, Tamar, Khijri and Mandar, are reserved for STs.
A survey that samples only the city will describe Ranchi's administrators and traders well and its villages poorly. We set separate quotas for the municipal area and for the blocks in scope.

Which languages do interviewers use around Ranchi?
Hindi covers the city and most peri-urban areas. In rural blocks we plan for Nagpuri (Sadri), and for Kurukh or Mundari where the sample includes those communities. The pilot confirms which languages each area needs, and interviewers are matched to villages accordingly.
Do you survey only Ranchi city or the whole district?
Either. Many clients need both, because the city and the rural blocks answer very differently. We set separate quotas for the municipal area and for the blocks or assembly seats in scope, and report them side by side.
How do you handle festivals like Sarhul during fieldwork?
We avoid scheduling village interviews on major festival days such as Sarhul and on local market days, when households are busy or away. Buffer days are built into the timeline so the sample is not rushed afterwards.
Is your political research in Ranchi neutral?
Yes. Questions are worded neutrally and pre-tested, results are reported as measured, and we do not promise outcomes. Our role is to describe what voters in each seat say, not to argue for any party or candidate.
